A Bit Concerning: This Governor Has Eyes Set On Senate As RINO Romney And Democrat Leaders Give Their Support

Breitbart reports former Indiana Republican Governor Mitch Daniels is getting a thumbs up from Democratic leaders like Senator John Hickenlooper of Colorado as Daniels tries to make a decision, one way or the other, if he plans to run for a seat in the United States Senate.

The report also notes Republican Senator Mitt Romney is on board with Daniels, saying he would make a terrific candidate for the Senate seat.

Daniels, for his part, told reporters that the trip he made to Capitol Hill on Wednesday was to meet with senators so he could discuss with them what is involved in the life of a senator."

Former governor Senator Hickenlooper added his praise of Daniels social skills and said that Daniels bringing his executive experience to the Senate would be a positive move and transition well. Hickenlooper said in an interview, Maybe our success here the last couple of years is going to attract more governors. The experience of being a governor is directly applicable.

I think [Daniels] is someone who is driven by a desire - almost a need - to serve. My guess is that hell look at it and think, yeah, I was so cynical and hated it. He has great social skills. Hes a talented manager, obviously a very successful governor, but he also is a visionary and is capable of bringing people together and building these constituencies around specific issues, which is what this building is all about."

While Hickenlooper and Romney have similar feelings about Daniels as a good candidate, Daniels told reporters, Ive always had action jobs, so Ive always had great admiration and respect for people who follow the legislative path, but its not something Ive done or, frankly, seen myself doing. Im just testing all that now because Ive been asked to. People I admire have asked me to think about it, so Im thinking."

According to Indiana Senator Todd Young, he said after meeting with Daniels on Capitol Hill that Daniels seemed uncertain whether he should enter the race.

Young said, Hes genuinely and sincerely trying to figure out whether he wants to spend a year and a half auditioning for the job and six years in the job. Hes asking a lot of questions about the job itself."

If Daniels enters the race, he will face Rep. Jim Banks, who has already stated he is a candidate.
