Treasury Moves To Strip Benefits And Bank Access From Illegal Aliens

In a bold move aimed at curbing the exploitation of American financial systems by illegal aliens, the Trump administration, under the directive of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, has announced a series of stringent measures.

These measures are designed to deny federal tax benefits and flag suspicious money transfers associated with illegal aliens, thereby preserving these benefits for U.S. citizens.

According to Gateway Pundit, Bessent, acting on President Donald Trump's orders, stated that the crackdown would include barring illegal aliens from the Earned Income Tax Credit, the Additional Child Tax Credit, the American Opportunity Tax Credit, and the Savers Match Credit. He emphasized this in a post on X, stating, At @POTUS @realDonaldTrumps direction, we are working to cut off federal benefits to illegal aliens and preserve them for U.S. citizens.

The Treasury Secretary further clarified that the Treasury would "issue proposed regulations clarifying that the refunded portions of certain individual income tax benefits are no longer available to illegal and other non-qualified aliens." This move is seen as a significant step in curbing the exploitation of the American financial system by illegal aliens.

Bessent added, If youre here illegally, theres no place for you in our financial system. Illegal aliens that use our financial institutions to move their illicitly obtained funds is exploitation, and it will end.

This crackdown is an extension of Trumps February 2025 executive order that barred illegal aliens from taxpayer-funded benefits, thereby enforcing the 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) that had been largely ignored by Democrats for decades. These rules, backed by a recent Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel opinion, will come into effect starting in tax year 2026, effectively closing the door on fraud and redirecting resources to deserving citizens.

In tandem with these measures, the Treasurys Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) issued a stern warning to money services businesses such as check cashers, remittance processors, and digital payment platforms. They are to flag any suspicious activities tied to illegal aliens, particularly transactions of $2,000 or more that seem suspicious, such as moving funds from unlawful employment or shady sources across borders. This move is aimed at curbing the rampant abuse where illegal migrants funnel cash back to their home countries or even to terror-linked groups.

These announcements from Bessent came on the heels of Trumps response to the tragic death of 20-year-old National Guard Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, who succumbed to her injuries following a targeted shooting in Washington, D.C. In a pair of posts on Truth Social on Thanksgiving, Trump vowed to "permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries" and terminate millions of illegal admissions from the Biden era, emphasizing the need to prioritize American safety and loyalty to the nation.

In his posts, the president highlighted the strain that the "refugee burden" has placed on American society, stating that it is the leading cause of social dysfunction in America. He further detailed his plan to "permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our Country." He emphasized that "Only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation."

These measures follow Trump's request for an additional 500 National Guard troops to be deployed to D.C. and a halt to processing immigration requests for Afghan nationals. The shooting suspect, identified as Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who entered the U.S. under Biden's Operation Allies Welcome in 2021, has been charged in the incident, which authorities are investigating as a possible act of terror.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has confirmed that prosecutors will be seeking the death penalty. This incident underscores the urgency and necessity of the measures announced by the Trump administration to safeguard American citizens and the nation's financial system.
