Democrat Hypocrisy On Steroids: Dem Rep. Posed For Funding Photo-Ops, Then Torched The Bill!

Senator Jon Ossoff of Georgia, a Democrat, has found himself in a precarious position after voting against the final passage of a funding bill he had previously championed.

This move has largely gone unnoticed by mainstream media, despite earlier reports highlighting his role in securing what was described as a "historic" investment for Georgia.

According to Breitbart, a press release from Ossoff's office in August proudly announced that the appropriations bill included funding he had "secured," marking the largest allocation for Georgia military construction projects in 15 years. The bill also contained $11.4 million for agricultural and rural projects, which Ossoff had specifically requested.

At the time, Ossoff urged the U.S. House to pass the bill swiftly and called on President Donald Trump to sign it, emphasizing the over $550 million earmarked for military construction in Georgia. "From my leadership position on the Military Construction Subcommittee, I ensured this bill delivers the most military construction funding for Georgia in 15 years," Ossoff stated, highlighting his role in advancing the bill through the Senate with bipartisan support.

Despite his earlier advocacy, Ossoff's vote against the bill contributed to a prolonged government shutdown, which ended only after the bill passed on November 12 without his support. Notably, only eight Democrat senators voted in favor of the continuing resolution, and Ossoff was not among them, despite having previously boasted about his involvement in the bill's development.

Local news outlets such as Fox 5 Atlanta and 11Alive reported on Ossoff's success in securing funds for Georgia but failed to mention his subsequent "nay" vote.

Ultimately, it was the efforts of Republicans and President Donald Trump that ensured Georgia received the promised funds, rather than Ossoff's actions. The senator has also faced criticism from Republicans for claiming credit for the bipartisan VA Home Loan Reform Act, despite not voting on the legislation. This pattern of behavior raises questions about Ossoff's commitment to his legislative responsibilities and his willingness to stand by his public declarations.
