Federal Worker Turns Domestic Terrorist: Arrested For Doxxing Agent During DOJ Raid

Written by Published

A staff member of the U.S. Department of Justice is facing state terrorism charges following allegations of doxxing a federal agent amid a border operation.

The individual in question, Karen Olvera De Leon, was apprehended by the Cameron County District Attorneys Office investigators, linked to a criminal indictment. Employed by the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Southern District of Texas in Brownsville, Olvera De Leon is charged with one count of terrorism and another for tampering with physical evidence.

As reported by Breitbart, the incident traces back to June 9, when federal agents executed a raid in Brownsville. During this operation, onlookers began recording and livestreaming the event. The situation escalated when a social media user, commenting on one of the livestreams, issued what authorities perceived as a death threat against the agent featured in the footage. Subsequently, another commenter disclosed the agent's identity, an act that prompted a federal investigation. Authorities were able to trace the doxxing back to Olvera De Leon, leading to her arrest by Cameron County investigators.

Jail records from the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center in Cameron County indicate that Olvera De Leon was granted a $20,000 personal recognizance bond. This arrangement allowed her release without posting bail, contingent upon her appearance at future court dates, failing which she would be liable for the bond amount.

This incident in South Texas unfolds against a backdrop of increasing hostility towards federal agents, particularly those affiliated with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Border Patrol, who have been subjected to numerous threats and attacks due to their immigration enforcement duties.

In a related incident, just a month after the doxxing case, a gunman clad in tactical gear launched an assault on a U.S. Border Patrol facility adjacent to the McAllen International Airport. As reported by Breitbart Texas, the assailant fired multiple shots at law enforcement personnel and into the building. The confrontation ended with McAllen Police and Border Patrol agents neutralizing the threat, although one police officer sustained injuries during the exchange.

The ongoing threats faced by federal agents underscore the volatile environment surrounding immigration enforcement in the United States. The actions of individuals like Olvera De Leon, who allegedly compromised the safety of a federal agent, highlight the challenges law enforcement faces in maintaining operational security and protecting their personnel from harm.
