NBC's Kristen Welker took a rare step in holding Democrat Senator Amy Klobuchar accountable for the actions of her fellow party members, who recently released a controversial video.
The video featured six Democrat lawmakers urging the military to defy President Trump's directives, labeling them as "illegal orders." This bold move by the Democrats has sparked significant backlash, particularly from President Trump himself.
As reported by Gateway Pundit, President Trump was quick to condemn the actions of Senators Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and Mark Kelly (D-AZ), along with Representatives Maggie Goodlander (NH), Jason Crow (CO), Chris Deluzio (PA), and Chrissy Houlahan (PA). In a viral video, these lawmakers repeatedly emphasized, "You can refuse illegal orders," or "You must refuse illegal orders."
President Trump responded with a fiery post on Truth Social, declaring, "This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP??? President DJT." He further intensified his rhetoric by stating, "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!"
During a Sunday interview, Welker pressed Klobuchar on the specifics of the alleged "illegal acts" mentioned in the video. Klobuchar struggled to provide a clear answer, instead offering a vague explanation involving the National Guard and a District Judge's order. "If their commander were to tell them, hey go out on the streets and do this and that, thats not following the order that is in law," she stated.
Meanwhile, on ABC's "This Week," Elissa Slotkin conceded that the Democrats' claims about President Trump issuing illegal orders were unfounded. When questioned by ABC's Martha Raddatz, Slotkin admitted, "To my knowledge, I am not aware of things that are illegal." This admission raises questions about the motivations behind the Democrats' video and the potential consequences of their actions.
