The enigma surrounding Thomas Crooks, the individual who attempted to assassinate President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania last year, has been reignited by Tucker Carlson.
Crooks' case, which has been shrouded in mystery and controversy, has been thrust back into the spotlight by the conservative commentator.
According to Gateway Pundit, Carlson made a bold assertion on Thursday, accusing the FBI of deceit and cover-up in relation to Crooks' case. He promised to expose the truth in a documentary to be released the following day. "The FBI told us Thomas Crooks tried to kill Donald Trump last summer but somehow had no online footprint," Carlson claimed. "The FBI lied, and we can prove it Story tomorrow."
In a 34-minute video released on Friday, Carlson delved deeper into the mystery. He expressed frustration at the lack of information available about Crooks, despite the gravity of his alleged crime. "Thomas Crooks came within a quarter inch of destroying this country, and yet, a year and a half later, we still know almost nothing about him or why he did it. Thats because, for some reason, the FBI, even the current FBI, doesnt want us to know," Carlson stated.
The video further alleges that both the Biden and Trump administrations' FBI have concealed crucial details about Crooks' motivations and his sudden political shift, as evidenced by his social media history. According to Carlson, an anonymous user gained access to Crooks' alleged YouTube account, revealing a dramatic transformation from a fervent Trump supporter to a vehement critic.
In 2019, Crooks lauded Trump as the "literal definition of Patriotism" and expressed violent sentiments towards anti-Trump congresswomen. However, by 2020, his tone had shifted dramatically, with posts mocking the idea of a deep state and deriding Trump supporters as "brainwashed," "dumb," and "racist." "It was an amazing transformation," Carlson observed.
Despite his political shift, Crooks' violent tendencies remained, as Carlson pointed out. In August 2020, he allegedly advocated for "terrorism-style attacks" to overthrow the government. "So here you have a volatile, troubled, possibly mentally ill young man with a long record of espousing violence in public. The FBI clearly knew he existed," Carlson explained.
The video also included previously unseen footage from Crooks' Google Drive account, showing him dry-firing a handgun in his bedroom.
In response to Carlson's allegations, FBI Director Kash Patel issued a statement denying the agency's alleged lies about Crooks' social media accounts. He maintained that the would-be assassin acted independently. Patel detailed the extensive resources dedicated to the investigation, including over 480 FBI employees, more than 1,000 interviews, analysis of data from 13 seized digital devices, and examination of 25 social media or online forum accounts.
The FBI's thorough investigation into Thomas Crooks revealed that he had limited online and in-person interactions, planned and executed the attack alone, and did not disclose his intentions to anyone. Despite the controversy and allegations of cover-up, the FBI maintains its stance on the case, asserting that Crooks acted alone in his attempt to assassinate the former president.
The mystery surrounding Crooks continues to intrigue and perplex, as the public awaits further revelations.
