'Next Step' Is Forcing Everyone To Reapply For SNAP To Safeguard Program Integrity

During a recent appearance on Newsmax TV's "Rob Schmitt Tonight," Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins addressed the pressing issue of food stamp data, particularly highlighting discrepancies in the system.

Rollins emphasized the importance of scrutinizing data from blue states, asserting that it will provide a foundation to overhaul the program. She stated, "It's going to give us a platform and a trajectory to fundamentally rebuild this program, have everyone reapply for their benefit, make sure that everyone thats taking a taxpayer-funded benefit through SNAP or food stamps, that they literally are vulnerable and they cant survive without it."

According to Breitbart, Rollins revealed startling findings from the data collected from 29 states, predominantly Republican-led. She noted, "29 states, mostly the red states, responded with their data sets, February, March, April. But heres the most unbelievable news I have really, just over the last few days: That 5,000 dead people, that was just one month, the number is closer to 186,000 deceased men and women and children in this country are receiving a check." Rollins expressed concern over the inefficiencies, adding,

"Half a million are getting two. But heres the really stunning thing: This is just data from those 29 mostly red states. Can you imagine when we get our hands on the blue state data, what were going to find?"

Rollins reiterated the need for a comprehensive review and restructuring of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to ensure that only those genuinely in need benefit from taxpayer-funded assistance. Her remarks underscore a broader conservative agenda focused on accountability and fiscal responsibility within government programs.
