James Talarico, a Texas Democrat known for emphasizing his Christian values in his senatorial campaign, is facing scrutiny over his social media activity.
Talarico, who serves in the Texas House and aims to attract evangelical voters back to the Democratic Party, has been found to follow a variety of social media accounts linked to escorts, OnlyFans models, and adult film stars.
As reported by Axios, Talarico's Instagram activity includes following ten accounts associated with popular figures in the adult entertainment industry. These accounts belong to individuals who are recognized as porn actors, OnlyFans models, and have profiles on escort websites.
Earlier this year, Talarico "liked" images from an Austin-based Instagram user who also maintains an OnlyFans account and a page on EscortBook.com, a platform that touts itself as the leading content management system for the escort industry. While the images in question did not contain nudity, which is largely prohibited on Instagram, they nonetheless raised eyebrows due to the nature of the associated accounts.
Talarico's social media interactions extend to following adult film actors such as Giselle Palmer, known on Instagram as @honky_tonkangel, who boasts nearly 250,000 followers. Some of the Instagram accounts he follows have corresponding profiles on websites like datingpornstar.com and escortstate.com, with several featuring adult content on OnlyFans.
These accounts often include provocative images and links to explicit content, though they do not explicitly identify their owners as adult film performers.
In response to the revelations, Talarico's campaign has denied any deliberate engagement with these accounts. JT Ennis, a spokesperson for Talarico, stated, "The social media team including James follows back and engages with supporters who have large followings and does not investigate their backgrounds." Ennis further clarified, "James has never subscribed to Only Fans or an escort service," and emphasized that Talarico does not judge these women for their means of earning a living, refusing to participate in what he described as efforts to "smear them for clickbait articles."
Talarico, who has garnered media attention, including an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, has previously criticized Trump supporters' interpretation of Christianity. He remarked last September, "Too many Christians have forgotten Jesus and now worship at the feet of Donald Trump," describing the President as "a business cheat, a pathological liar, a serial adulterer, a twice-impeached insurrectionist, a convicted felon, and an adjudicated rapist."
Talarico's comments reflect his belief that some Christians have strayed from their faith's teachings, opting instead to support a figure he views as morally compromised.
