During a conversation with reporters aboard Air Force One on Monday morning, President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on a potential "unstoppable" Republican ticket for the 2028 presidential election.
He suggested that the current Vice President, JD Vance, should lead the ticket, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio as his running mate.
As reported by The Post Millennial, while traveling to Japan, President Trump expressed confidence in the Republican Party's prospects for 2028, stating, "Well, we have great people. Well, I dont have to get into that, but we have one of them standing right here. We have JD [Vance] obviously. The Vice President is great, Marco [Rubio] is great. Im not sure if anybody would run against us. I think if they ever formed a group it would be unstoppable, I really do. I really believe that."
His remarks underscore a strategic vision for the GOP, emphasizing the strength of its leadership and potential candidates.
In contrast, President Trump criticized the Democratic Party, particularly targeting Representatives Jasmine Crockett and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, whom he described as "low IQ." He challenged their intellectual capabilities, stating, "Give her an IQ test. Have her pass, like, the exams that I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed," and further added, "let AOC go against Trump. Let Jasmine go against Trump. I dont think Jasminethe first couple of questions are easy, a tiger, an elephant, a giraffe, you know, when you get up to about five or six and then when you get up to 10 and 20 and 25, they couldn't come close to answering any of those questions."
On the Democratic front, California Governor Gavin Newsom is reportedly considering a presidential bid, while Kamala Harris, Biden's former Vice President, has not ruled out running despite her lackluster performance in 2024. According to prediction market Polymarket, Newsom's chances of winning the 2028 election stand at 22 percent, with JD Vance leading at 29 percent.
Meanwhile, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lags behind other candidates at 8 percent, though she has hinted at the possibility of either a Senate or presidential run in 2028.
Jasmine Crockett, on the other hand, is contemplating a Senate run if redistricting in Texas jeopardizes her congressional seat. She remarked on the potential irony of such a move, saying, "The other option is every other day there's a poll that comes out that makes it clear that I can win the primary for the U.S. Senate race in Texas, and I am looking, because if you want to take my seat of 766,000 away, I feel like there has to be some karma in that to where I take your seat that is for 30 million away."
As the political landscape evolves, the Republican Party appears poised to capitalize on its leadership strengths, while the Democrats face internal challenges and strategic decisions. The coming years will undoubtedly shape the future of both parties as they prepare for the 2028 election.
