Republican Sliwa Vows 'No Surrender' In NYC Mayoral Race!

In the heated contest for New York City's mayoral seat, Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa remains resolute in his campaign efforts, despite mounting pressure from both Republicans and moderate Democrats urging him to step aside.

Sliwa, known for founding the Guardian Angels, has made it clear that he has no intention of withdrawing from the race. "Ive already been offered money to drop out. I said no. Fourteen days left, and I am going to put every hour of the day into it that is humanly possible," he asserted.

His commitment to the democratic process is unwavering, as he emphasized, "Im not dropping out. One person, one vote. Thats how we determine elections."

According to One America News, Sliwa faces formidable opponents in Andrew Cuomo, the former governor of New York now running as an Independent, and Democrat Zohran Mamdani, a self-proclaimed radical socialist advocating for policies such as rent freezes and taxpayer-funded public services. A recent poll conducted by AARP and Gotham Polling reveals Mamdani leading with 43.2%, followed by Cuomo at 28.9%, and Sliwa trailing at 19.4%.

Notably, the poll suggests that if Sliwa were to exit the race, Mamdani's lead would significantly diminish, with Cuomo closing in at 40.7%.

Cuomo, in a bid to consolidate conservative and moderate support, has appealed to voters to back him over Sliwa, humorously remarking, "I dont have horns." He further contended that a vote for Sliwa effectively aids Mamdani's campaign, stating, "Hes not viable. A vote for Curtis is a vote for Mamdani. Everyone knows that."

The former governor has even hinted at the possibility of offering Sliwa a role in his administration should he choose to withdraw, admitting, "I havent even thought about it to tell you the truth, but, yes, that would be something that I am interested in."

As the election approaches, the dynamics of the race underscore the complexities of political alliances and voter sentiment in New York City. Sliwa's determination to remain in the race highlights his commitment to conservative principles and the democratic process, even as he faces significant challenges from his opponents.

The outcome of this contest will undoubtedly have implications for the city's future direction, as voters weigh their options in this pivotal election.
