Watch: Bernie Sanders Claims Trump 'Borrowed' One Of His Socialist Ideas!

In a recent appearance on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) made a striking observation regarding President Donald Trump's economic policies.

During his conversation with host Jon Stewart, Sanders acknowledged that certain aspects of Trump's approach align with his own long-standing ideas.

Stewart remarked, "Your message, its always been consistent, youve spoken in this way since you first came on the scene, for a very long time, and youve always been clear about it. You could almost make a case that the true inheritor of the Sanders revolution is Trump. Hes the most socialist President of my lifetime, taking a percentage of companies to do business. Thats a Bernie Sanders idea." According to Breitbart, Sanders concurred with Stewart's assessment, responding simply with, "Yeah."

The discussion further delved into Trump's policies, with Stewart noting, "Doing a Trump Rx where the government is involved in selling pharmaceuticals, thats a Bernie Sanders idea." Sanders agreed but was quick to highlight the broader context of Trump's policies, stating, "But its not only his some of his policies. Some of his other policies, lets not forget, hes throwing 15 million people off their health care they have and doubling healthcare premiums. And giving a trillion dollars in tax breaks to the 1%."

Stewart questioned Sanders on the apparent irony of Trump adopting some of his ideas while Democrats seem hesitant, asking, "Is it frustrating that the thing that you fought for your whole career, Democrats are the ones who run away from scared, and hes embraced some of it?" Sanders acknowledged the frustration, affirming, "Yeah. Thats true."

This exchange underscores the complex political landscape where traditional party lines blur, and policies once deemed radical find unexpected champions.
