Trump Reveals The Fighter Hes Backing To Crush RINO Rep. Massie In 2026

In a recent political development, President Donald Trump has identified a potential candidate to challenge one of his most persistent Republican critics in Congress, Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky.

As reported by Gateway Pundit, Trump has been at odds with Massie since the latter opposed a funding bill backed by Trump, which was designed to avert a government shutdown.

Trump, in his characteristic style, compared Massie to Liz Cheney, a Republican representative who faced significant backlash from her party for her criticism of Trump. "Congressman Thomas Massie, of beautiful Kentucky, is an automatic 'NO' vote on just about everything, despite the fact that he has always voted for Continuing Resolutions in the past. HE SHOULD BE PRIMARIED, and I will lead the charge against him. Hes just another GRANDSTANDER, whos too much trouble, and not worth the fight," Trump stated.

He further added, "He reminds me of Liz Cheney before her historic, record-breaking fall (loss!). The people of Kentucky wont stand for it, just watch. DO I HAVE ANY TAKERS??? Anyway, thank you again to the House Freedom Caucus for your very important vote."

Trump's choice to challenge Massie is Captain Ed Gallrein, a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and fifth-generation Kentucky farmer. In a scathing critique of Massie, Trump wrote, "Third Rate Congressman Thomas Massie, a Weak and Pathetic RINO from the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, a place I love, and won big SIX TIMES, must be thrown out of office, ASAP! The incredible people of Kentuckys 4th Congressional District gave us a mandate to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and the person that will help us do that is Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Fifth Generation Kentucky Farmer, Captain Ed Gallrein, a true America First Patriot."

Trump lauded Gallrein's military service and business acumen, stating, "A Brave Combat Veteran, Ed knows the Wisdom and Courage required to Defend our Country, Support our Military/Veterans, and Ensure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH. Additionally, as a very successful Businessman, Ed knows how to Create GREAT Jobs, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Support our Amazing Farmers and American Agriculture, Unleash American Energy Dominance, and Champion our Nations Golden Age."

Trump also highlighted Gallrein's commitment to border security, crime prevention, and the defense of the Second Amendment. He expressed hope that Gallrein would accept his endorsement and challenge Massie, whose approval ratings, according to Trump, have plummeted. "I hope Ed gets into the Race against Massie, who is now polling at about 9% because the Great People of Kentucky are wise to him He only votes against the Republican Party, making life very easy for the Radical Left," Trump said.

He concluded by saying, "CAPTAIN ED GALLREIN IS A WINNER WHO WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. Should he decide to challenge Massie, Captain Ed Gallrein has my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, ED, RUN MAGA!"

Massie has been a consistent irritant for Trump, opposing him on several legislative matters, including a bill that Trump referred to as the "Big, Beautiful Bill." Massie has also resisted Trump's pro-Israel policies and pushed for the release of the Epstein files, which Trump had withheld for four years.

He even suggested that Trump should moderate his political rhetoric following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, by a pro-transgender rights activist, implying that Trump's rhetoric contributed to a toxic political climate. Despite Massie's libertarian principles, his consistent opposition to legislation that could benefit America has eroded his support among conservatives.
