A video of a metallic orb was seen during last months Senate hearing.
Many people say that it was a UFO. According to one retired Naval officer, a similar object was spotted in Afghanistan, but he is afraid to tell the whole story due to a fear of being put behind bars. The officer says there is no secure way for him to come forward.
Fox News reports, Im going to be honest with you. Id love to tell everything in detail, but Im not willing to go to jail to do it, said a retired Navy senior chief, whose name is withheld for fear of repercussions. He went on to tell Fox that security agreements are in place, so he cant tell the whole story.
Per Fox News, Not having a secure way to report potential UFOs was a glaring oversight in the eyes of two lawmakers on both sides of the aisle after All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) s April 19 UFO hearing in front of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities.
Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick is the head of the agency that investigates these sightings. They are often called UAPs, which stand for unidentified anomalous phenomena. He showed the few-second-long video clips of the object and said, Its going to be virtually impossible to fully identify that, just based off that video. As it currently stands, its considered an unresolved case.
However, the retired Navy officer says this isnt an isolated incident. According to him, he observed similar orbs in Afghanistan in the early 2000s. The officer says he could point the government in the right direction, even though he doesnt know where all the data on the orb is stored.
Senators Marco Rubio and Mark Warner wrote a 5-bullet-point letter to the Department of Defense making several points. One stated there needs to be a secure way for UFO witnesses to report seeing these objects.
Rubio said, Whats worse, our government spent too many years ignoring or downplaying the threat. He added, Thankfully, that is beginning to change, but as we saw earlier this year, the defense and intelligence communities are still struggling.
The Florida senator noted that Americans often lack information regarding incidences, such as the Chinese spy balloon and other UAPs shot down in February.
Rubio added, In this instance, we shot down multiple UAPs, and its not clear, to this day, we know with confidence what they were.
