During a recent livestream on his YouTube channel, a New York City resident expressed his support for President Donald Trump's deportation policies to former CNN host Don Lemon.
The man voiced his approval of the administration's efforts to fulfill the president's campaign promise of executing large-scale deportation operations. Despite the ongoing federal government shutdown, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed that these efforts will persist.
As reported by the Daily Caller, the man conveyed his longstanding desire for a President to implement such deportations, even as Lemon suggested that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was allegedly mistreating migrants. "I feel good about them," the man stated when questioned by Lemon about his stance on the ICE raids.
When further pressed on whether he supported a more aggressive approach, he affirmed, "Been wanting it for years all my life."
Lemon's assertion that ICE was "roughing people up" was met with the man's disapproval of any such actions. Nonetheless, he maintained his stance on deportations, saying, "At the same time, get them out of here. Get them all out of here, please and thank you. Trump four more years for that. Just for that."
The man argued that illegal immigrants are taking jobs from American citizens, countering Lemon's argument that they perform jobs Americans are unwilling to do.
In September, DHS announced that over 2 million illegal migrants had either self-deported or been removed from the United States within the first 250 days of President Trump's second term. Furthermore, the administration has successfully avoided paroling any illegal migrants into the country for four consecutive months, as per data released by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in September.
Border Patrol agents recorded 6,319 apprehensions along the southern border in August, averaging 204 arrests daily.
Nationwide, there were just under 26,200 border encounters in August, a figure that represents a 93% decrease from the peak numbers seen during former President Joe Biden's administration. This data underscores the Trump administration's commitment to securing the nation's borders and prioritizing the employment opportunities of American citizens.
