Ahead Of October 7 Anniversary, Mamdani Calls Israels Actions A GenocideReigniting Fierce Debate!

Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic Party's candidate for the mayoralty of New York City, recently engaged with Palestinian residents in Astoria to commemorate what he described as the "genocide" occurring in Gaza.

This meeting took place in anticipation of the second anniversary of the Palestinian terrorist assault on Israel, which occurred on October 7. Mamdani shared his experience on the social media platform X, stating, This afternoon, I sat with Palestinian New Yorkers in Astoria and listened to what they and their families have endured as the genocide in Gaza [sic] continues, funded by our government. In the face of immeasurable grief, they have showed unbreakable resilience.

According to Breitbart, the claim of a "genocide" in Gaza is unfounded. In contrast, the actions of Hamas terrorists, who invaded Israel, clearly demonstrated genocidal intent, as evidenced by their violent acts and the principles outlined in their founding charter.

Mamdani, whose father Mahmood Mamdani is an Ivy League academic known for advocating the recognition of suicide bombings as a legitimate form of warfare, has a history of participating in radical anti-Israel demonstrations. He has also vowed to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for alleged "war crimes" should he visit New York.

Mamdani's statement appears to blur the lines between aggressor and victim, seemingly endorsing the radical, pro-terrorist sentiments of Palestinians who seek to portray themselves as victims following their initiation and celebration of a violent conflict. On October 7, Hamas brutally murdered 1,200 Israelis, predominantly civilians, often broadcasting their heinous acts live to the victims' families.

Additionally, they abducted over 250 hostages to Gaza, with only about 20 believed to still be alive.
