According to Breitbart, St.
Louis prosecutor Kim Gardner has finally resigned from her office. The George Soros-funded prosecutor has drawn a lot of controversy in recent months, and she has finally stepped down.
Gardner alleged that she had been "targeted" when she submitted her resignation letter. She loaded the letter onto Twitter. She wrote the following:
"Unfortunately, since the time I took office, as the first black, female prosecutor in the State, people outside of the city have targeted me and, to advance their goals, have also targeted the fundamental rights of the city's voters,"
The letter announced that her resignation would be effective on June 1st.
Steps were in progress to remove Gardner from her office for the last few weeks. She had allegedly mishandled a variety of cases that came before her office.
Attorney General Bailey said the following in early April: "As Attorney General, I want to protect the people of St. Louis, and that includes ensuring prosecutors protect the public," and "We gave Circuit Attorney Gardner the chance to do the right thing and resign, she has refused to do so, and my office filed a quo warrant at 12:01 PM to remove her from office immediately."
Gardner added the following information to her resignation letter: "This most recent bill is a part of a coordinated, long-standing strategy to undermine me and my efforts to make the City of St. Louis safer and fairer,"
Breitbart reports that it is essential to note that Gardner launched an investigation into former Governor Eric Greitens (R) in 2018 about an alleged affair he was said to have had around that time. The former Governor was not only alleged to have had an experience, but it was noted that he blackmailed the woman he had an affair with, releasing compromising photos of her.
Gardner noted, "Absorb those attacks, and I have. But I can neither enable nor allow the outright disenfranchisement of the people of the City of St. Louis, nor can I allow these outsiders to effectively shut down our important work,"
However, the pressure was enough to get her to resign from her office.
