Bidens mishandling of classified documents has been a consistent source of headlines lately.
Now, its no surprise that hes getting softer treatment from everyone, including the Department of Justice. We probably wont see a raid on his house like we did Trumps, and Trump put him on blast for it.
The Department of Justice chose not to assign FBI agents to supervise a search of Bidens home, per an agreement with Bidens lawyer. The Department of Justice states that the supervision isnt necessary because Biden is cooperating with the investigation and because it could complicate the investigation.
Trump took to Truth Social to point out the unfair treatment. According to the Daily Wire, Biden is being treated so much [sic] better than me, Im shocked (not really!). Why arent they raiding his house, & how come his representatives and lawyers are allowed to work together with the Gestapo [sic] in looking for documents, when my lawyers & representatives were not allowed anywhere near the search, Trump posted on Truth Social on Wednesday morning. We werent even allowed to know what they took when they raided my home. Please leave the premises, they said, & then lugged out everything they could, including my Passports & Med Recs.
One of Bidens lawyers found ten classified documents that dated back to when he was Vice President in his Delaware home. After that, his team searched several of his properties, revealing more mishandled classified documents. One batch was discovered in his garage. Every document was turned over to the government.
The apparent disparities in the treatment had drawn a lot of bipartisan criticism given how former President Trump was treated when he was accused of mishandling classified documents, which President Biden has also done.
Republicans are quick to point out the hypocrisy in President Bidens treatment, while Democrats claim that Republicans make everything political.
