Fox News reports that President Biden assigned himself a light workload this week.
He had no public events scheduled, and he even let Vice President Kamala Harris take the lead on a meeting with companies to discuss artificial intelligence (AI).
The only listed activity for Biden this week was a private meeting with Harris to brief her on some of the issues that will be discussed with the companies in the AI meeting. Harris is slated to have that meeting, and then she will travel to Richmond, Virginia, to meet with small business owners. Biden is not listed as an attendee for either of these events.
Fox News reports that First Lady Jill Biden will fly to the United Kingdom to attend the coronation of King Charles. President Biden also received an invitation to the event but declined to participate.
President Biden spoke at an event on Monday for Small Business Week and then met with the President of the Philippines. On Saturday, he was at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner. However, he now seems to have a lightened workload. This comes just one week after he announced his re-election bid.
It is important to note that there are no immigration events scheduled by the White House this week, even though Title 42 is set to expire this week. That could create another wave of illegal immigrants entering the country, which is highly concerning to many people. However, the White House did not feel it was necessary to schedule any events addressing this issue this week.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre addressed a question regarding the lightened schedule for the President. She said: Hes been meeting with having internal meetings in the Oval Office, and I had a meeting with him earlier today with senior advisors, senior staff, talking about the issues that matter to the American people.
Still, many wonder if the lightened schedule is a sign that the President might not have the stamina to handle a campaign and his current job.
