President Donald Trump has taken decisive action in response to escalating violence in Portland and against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities, as he announced on social media this past Saturday.
Citing threats from Antifa and other domestic groups, the President has ordered the deployment of troops to safeguard these areas. This move follows a request from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, with the President authorizing the use of "full force" if deemed necessary.
"At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists. I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" the President's post declared.
According to The Post Millennial, Attorney General Pam Bondi has also taken a firm stance against the violence, issuing a statement on X that called for immediate action by Joint Terrorism Task Forces across the nation. Bondi emphasized that the Department of Justice would not tolerate such lawlessness, pledging to deploy agents to ICE facilities under threat and pursue severe charges against those involved in criminal activities.
She further instructed federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, DEA, ATF, and U.S. Marshals Service, to collaborate with Homeland Security in locating, detaining, and prosecuting offenders. Bondi linked these measures to President Trump's recent executive order, underscoring the administration's commitment to defending federal property and personnel from ongoing violence and obstruction.
In a previous address from the Oval Office, the President condemned "paid agitators" for inciting unrest in Portland, asserting that his administration would "wipe them out" should federal forces be deployed to the city. "These are paid agitators, and theyre very dangerous for our country," he remarked to reporters.
Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller echoed the administration's resolve, characterizing the unrest as an orchestrated campaign against the federal government. "We are witnessing domestic terrorist sedition," Miller stated, highlighting the full deployment of the Joint Terrorism Task Force under Bondi's directive, with all available resources at their disposal.
