Riley Gaines SLAMS 'Spineless Male Lawmakers' Who Refuse To Protect Their Daughters In Sports

A former collegiate swimmer, Riley Gaines, has criticized Democrat lawmakers who opposed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, accusing them of prioritizing their political interests over their responsibilities as parents.

The bill, which aims to amend Title IX to prevent schools that receive federal funding from allowing biological men to participate in women's sports, passed the House in April with a 219-203 vote. All the "yes" votes came from Republicans, and all the "no" votes came from Democrats, with several accusing Republicans of "bullying" transgender student-athletes with their support of the legislation.

In an interview on "Jesse Watters Primetime," Gaines expressed her confusion at the "spineless" male lawmakers who have daughters and were willing to succumb to political pressure while neglecting their obligations as fathers to protect their children.

Gaines questioned whether these lawmakers wanted their daughters to share locker rooms with men and lose out on opportunities, being asked to step aside and give away their trophies to men. She believes the answer is no, yet they will throw their responsibilities out the window and say yes because they lack backbone, morals, and courage.

Gaines commented after a California high school senior went viral for her passionate speech. She criticized her school District for allowing a biologically male student to use the women's locker room.

The student accused the school of putting women's safety in "jeopardy" by allowing transgender students to use the same bathroom and locker rooms as female students, alluding to a physical altercation captured in a viral video showing a transgender student assaulting a female student on campus.

Parents reportedly told Fox 11 in Los Angeles that the transgender student had a history of "erratic and uncomfortable behavior" and had access to the girls' bathrooms and locker rooms. Students also claimed that the student "shows his genitals" in the girl's locker room. The student was later expelled from the school, and Riverside Police claimed that this was not the first time the transgender student had been involved in an altercation.

Gaines, who was forced to share a locker room with transgender swimmer Lia Thomas when they competed against each other as NCAA athletes, later turned her attention to the mothers and female role models who have been silent on the issue.

She expressed her confusion at the fact that women are fighting sex-based protections, whether at the state level, the federal level, or across the general public. Gaines believes that women typically tend to be more agreeable and do not want to ruffle feathers or step on toes. However, she argues that society has gotten here by being friendly, quiet, and not using our voices.

In an earlier Fox News interview, Gaines found it "ironic" that the left was once a party that embraced women and fought for women's rights, but now the narrative has been flipped. She believes the war on women is underway, and the Democrats will pay for this in 2024.

Gaines' fight to protect women's sports was sparked by her experience competing against Lia Thomas, a transgender swimmer, and its impact on her and her teammates. As a former collegiate swimmer, Gaines understands the importance of protecting women's sports and ensuring that biological men do not compete against women.
