President Donald Trump has revealed that Dr. Ben Carson will be the recipient of the prestigious Presidential Medal of Freedom.
The announcement came with the promise of a forthcoming ceremony at the White House to celebrate Carson's achievements. "Congratulations Ben. He didn't know this. He didn't know it. I hope he's happy," Trump stated, surprising Carson with the news during the American Cornerstone Institute's Founders' Dinner.
As reported by Fox News, Carson, who established the American Cornerstone Institute (ACI), previously served as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Trump's administration. A renowned neurosurgeon, Carson initially entered the political arena as a presidential candidate during Trump's first campaign but eventually withdrew and endorsed Trump in 2016.
The ACI's mission, as outlined on its website, is to uphold the values that Carson believes are fundamental to America's greatness: Faith, Liberty, Community, and Life.
Carson has also thrown his support behind U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., in his re-election bid. In a recent post on X, Carson expressed his endorsement, stating, "Graham has been a steadfast conservative leader for South Carolina and our nation and I'm pleased to endorse him for re-election."
In addition to his political endorsements, Carson recently participated in a memorial service in Arizona, honoring the memory of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Carson's involvement in such events underscores his ongoing commitment to conservative principles and his influence within the movement.
