The tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, has sparked an unprecedented surge in student applications to establish new chapters of the organization.
Kirk's widow, Erika, has vowed to amplify the organization's voice and expand its reach, making it "louder and greater than ever."
Following the shocking incident at Utah Valley University last week, Turning Point USA has reported a significant increase in new chapter inquiries. According to One America News, the organization has received 54,400 inquiries, marking a rapid expansion into high schools and colleges nationwide.
Andrew Kolvet, the executive producer of "The Charlie Kirk Show," provided some context for this surge in interest. "To put that in perspective, TPUSA currently has 900 official college chapters and around 1,200 high school chapters, with a presence on 3,500 total," he wrote.
He further noted that Kirk's dream of establishing a Club America chapter in every American high school is becoming a reality faster than Kirk could have ever imagined.
Kolvet also revealed that he has personally received hundreds of offers from individuals willing to work for the organization, either paid or voluntarily. The inquiries were almost evenly split between college and high school students, with 27,800 and 26,600 inquiries respectively.
Turning Point USA acknowledged the outpouring of support, stating, "So many are commemorating a man who forever changed their lives and the world." The organization believes that this tragedy has awakened the spirit of patriotism and truth that Kirk always saw in his fellow Americans.
Kirk's vision for America was to establish Club America chapters in every high school and to blanket college campuses with TPUSA chapters. He believed in the power of young Americans to change the world and dedicated his life to empowering them. The organization affirmed that Kirk's vision is now becoming a reality, something that would have made him proud, grateful, and humbled.
Kirk was renowned for his college campus tours, such as the "You're Being Brainwashed" and "American Comeback" tours. He engaged students in public debates on various political topics, often in open-air settings, inviting students to challenge his conservative viewpoints.
His emphasis on civil discourse and respectful engagement, even amidst sharp disagreements, won him the admiration of millions of students nationwide.
Erika Kirk has urged young people inspired by her husband's faith in hard work to join their local Turning Point USA chapter. "If youre in high school or if youre in college, go find your local Turning Point USA chapter. Join it. Stay involved. He wants you to make a difference. And you can. You can. The movements not going anywhere. And it will only grow stronger when you join it," she stated.
She further encouraged those who cannot find a local chapter to start one, emphasizing that there is no excuse not to get involved.
As the legacy of Charlie Kirk continues to inspire and mobilize young conservatives across the nation, Turning Point USA stands poised to grow stronger and louder, embodying Kirk's vision for a future anchored in truth, conservatism, and hope.
