In a significant development, federal authorities have apprehended two individuals following the discovery of an incendiary device beneath a FOX 13 News vehicle, which led to a substantial law enforcement response and the evacuation of a neighborhood in Magna.

The suspects, Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31, face multiple charges, including Threat of Terrorism, Possession of Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Possession of Explosive Devices.

As reported by The Post Millennial, the incident unfolded on Friday when officials identified the incendiary device under the news vehicle. Although the device was ignited, it failed to detonate, yet its design and location posed a significant threat to public safety. Consequently, the FBI assumed control of the investigation.

On Saturday, a coordinated operation involving FBI agents, Salt Lake City police, and Unified Fire bomb squads executed a search warrant at a residence in Magna, uncovering additional explosive materials. This discovery necessitated the evacuation of the property and surrounding homes. Initially, the suspects claimed the devices found inside were hoaxes, but later conceded their authenticity.

The search, primarily focused on evidence related to the device under the news vehicle, also revealed contraband, including firearms, explosive components, illegal narcotics, and electronic devices potentially linked to the original device. Authorities confirmed that both suspects were subject to protective orders barring them from firearm possession.

FOX 13 Station Manager Leona Wood emphasized the station's commitment to safety, stating, FOX 13 News is working closely with law enforcement and our risk management team, with the safety of our employees as our top priority.

The investigation is ongoing, with federal prosecutors anticipated to assess the case for further charges. This incident underscores the critical importance of vigilance and swift action in safeguarding public safety and upholding the rule of law.
