The conservative world was left in shock following the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, a stalwart of the movement.
His close friend, Lara Logan, an acclaimed journalist with a host of awards to her name, including the Gracie Award, the David Kaplan Award, the Daniel Pearl Award, and the John Aubuchon Press Freedom Award, has released a heartfelt tribute to the late conservative icon.
According to Gateway Pundit, Logan's tribute to Kirk was shared in lieu of her regular "Lara Logan Going Rogue" weekly investigative report. The tribute, a deeply personal letter to her departed friend, was filled with raw emotion and poignant memories of their shared time.
In her tribute, Logan said, "It is hard to believe, still. The shock comes and goes, and so does the grief, but here we are. I see you smiling, tossing hats into the crowd, alive with fire and joy. That is the image of you that endures, one of power and love, with light in your eyes, the light of God that once set fire to the stars."
Logan's tribute highlighted Kirk's courage and his dedication to conservative values. She spoke of his bravery in challenging the status quo, particularly in the realm of higher education.
"You were the only one brave enough to walk a forbidden path onto college campuses, marching with purpose into the hallowed halls of indoctrination with a disarming smile, the armor of God and the sword of the spirit, which we know is the truth," she said.
Kirk, according to Logan, revealed how American universities had become hotbeds of anti-American sentiment, where radical ideologies were being propagated, stifling critical thinking and freedom of thought.
"You showed how Americas noble places of learning had become centers of anti-American hatred, where radical anarchist and Marxist indoctrination had turned critical thinking and freedom of thought into a war crime," she stated.
Logan also praised Kirk's authenticity and his genuine love for people, comparing him to Jesus Christ. "Much like the man you adored Jesus Christ, you love to people. It is a love you cannot fake or manufacture, and its permanently revealed in word and deed with consistency over time. People know in their hearts and their souls if its real or not. Its a certainty that no one can take away," she said.
Kirk's legacy, according to Logan, will continue to inspire and motivate future generations. "Charlie, your words traveled far and wide in your lifetime, but in death, they will reach beyond lifetimes and echo for generations. Your message will not be lost because you are the message. And you lived the word, and God spoke through you to rest in the hearts of all," she said.
Logan concluded her tribute with a prayer for Kirk's family, hoping that they find comfort and peace in their faith and the power of Kirk's love. "My prayer for you is that Erika and your children find comfort and peace in their faith and the power of your love and the love of God, which conquers all and surpasses all of our understanding. In Jesus name we pray. Amen," she said.
The loss of Charlie Kirk is a significant blow to the conservative movement. His courage, dedication, and love for people will be remembered and cherished by many, as evidenced by the heartfelt tribute from his friend Lara Logan. His legacy will continue to inspire and motivate those who believe in the principles he stood for.
