The conservative youth organization, Turning Point USA, is in mourning following the tragic assassination of its founder, Charlie Kirk.
The organization has hailed Kirk as "America's greatest martyr to the freedom of speech he so adored."
"Every one of us at Turning Point USA is crushed and devastated by the hateful murder of our founder and guiding light, Charlie Kirk. All of us have lost a leader, a mentor, and a friend," the organization expressed in a heartfelt statement.
The group also extended their sympathies to Kirk's wife, Erika, and their two children, describing Kirk as "the ideal husband and the perfect father."
The organization implored supporters to "pray for the Kirks after the incomprehensible loss they have suffered." Turning Point USA underscored Kirk's unwavering belief in the power of argument and good-faith debate as a means to uncover truth and foster mutual understanding, even in the face of disagreement.
Despite the numerous threats Kirk received throughout his life, his commitment to reaching young Americans never wavered. "Charlie was no stranger to threats.
He received thousands throughout his life. But he always prioritized reaching as many young Americans as possible over his own personal safety," the statement read.
Turning Point USA declared, "Now, Charlie has become Americas greatest martyr to the freedom of speech he so adored."
According to Breitbart, the organization's statement continued to highlight Kirk's remarkable life and achievements. Despite his young age, Kirk demonstrated an overwhelming passion for life and a deep belief in his power as an individual to make a difference. His energy, drive, and spirit were awe-inspiring and infectious.
Kirk was a natural builder and problem solver, who saw every setback as an opportunity to learn, grow, and try again. His values were deeply rooted in timeless American principles: honesty, forthrightness, duty, loyalty, and fair play.
"Charlie loved America, its people, its Constitution, its freedom, and the limitless good all of them have done for the world. But above all, Charlie lived every day with an overflowing love of the Christ he knew he would one day get to see," Turning Point USA said.
Kirk's organization pointed out that he wished to be remembered for his faith above all else. "Far more than any political victory, Charlie wanted to see a spiritual revival among Americas youth," the organization said.
Turning Point USA also revealed that during Kirk's final public speech, just days before his murder, he professed his faith to an audience of non-believers. "Even in his very last moments, Charlie was professing the Gospel," the organization said, adding, "He ran his race well all the way to the end. Now, he goes to his heavenly reward."
The organization asserted that Kirk's legacy will endure. "He shall not grow old; age shall not weary him. For all time, he will remain the brave young man who inspired tens of millions of Americans to better themselves and take action to better America."
"All of us will miss Charlie. None of us will ever forget him," Turning Point USA concluded.
As reported by Breitbart, Kirk was fatally shot during a speaking event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday in an apparent political assassination. The FBI Office in Salt Lake City has since released photos of a "person of interest" in connection with Kirk's assassination and has asked for the public's help.
