Venezuelan Socialist President Nicols Maduro has leveled accusations against the United States, alleging that it is attempting to orchestrate a regime change in Venezuela.
He condemned the recent U.S. naval presence in the Caribbean, describing it as a direct threat to his administration, which he claims has been unjustly labeled as "stolen."
Both the Biden and Trump administrations have consistently questioned the legitimacy of Maduro's election, asserting that the electoral process was manipulated under his leadership. The latest naval deployment, sanctioned by President Trump, is officially part of a broader initiative aimed at dismantling drug cartels and bolstering U.S. border security.
As reported by One America News, Maduro perceives this military maneuver as an infringement on Venezuelan sovereignty. During a press briefing in Caracas, he declared, "They are seeking a regime change through military threat," and further emphasized, "Venezuela is confronting the biggest threat that has been seen on our continent in the last 100 years. A situation like this has never been seen."
Maduro insists that Venezuela will not succumb to external pressures, asserting that the nation is prepared for any potential confrontations. His statements appear to serve as a veiled warning to U.S. officials, while simultaneously portraying himself as a resolute leader.
The Trump administration has been vocal in its accusations against Maduro, alleging his involvement in drug trafficking activities linked to cartels. A $50 million reward has been offered for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
In March 2020, the Department of Justice charged Maduro and 14 senior Venezuelan officials with narco-terrorism, corruption, and drug trafficking offenses. Attorney General William Barr accused the Maduro regime of collaborating with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) to inundate the United States with cocaine.
In a recent development, President Trump announced that the U.S. military successfully neutralized 11 members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua (TdA) and drug traffickers. These individuals were intercepted while transporting illegal substances on a "drug-carrying boat" off the Venezuelan coast. The operation resulted in no U.S. casualties, underscoring the effectiveness of the mission.
