On Labor Day, the streets near downtown Chicago became the stage for anti-Trump "Workers over Billionaires" marches, reportedly spearheaded by the Chicago Teachers Union.

These demonstrations unfolded against the backdrop of President Donald Trump's recent statements indicating that National Guard troops and federal immigration agents might soon be deployed to the Democrat-led city to address its escalating crime and illegal immigration issues.

According to Breitbart, the protests drew thousands, with organizers estimating attendance between 5,000 and 10,000 participants. However, Reuters noted that it was unable to immediately confirm these figures with city officials.

The demonstrators expressed their apprehension over President Trump's proposal to dispatch the National Guard and additional ICE agents, as captured in video footage showing attendees brandishing signs with messages such as "Shut Down ICE! No Military Occupation!" and "Resist Fascism!"

The Chicago Teachers Union led the charge in these protests, which were part of nearly 1,000 similar "Workers over Billionaires" demonstrations planned nationwide on Labor Day. This wave of activism emerged in response to the President's announcement of a crackdown on crime in major urban centers, as reported by MSNBC.

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, both Democrats, have voiced strong opposition to the potential deployment of federal forces. Governor Pritzker has issued warnings to President Trump, while Mayor Johnson has suggested that such actions would provoke a community uprising against what he termed "tyranny."

Despite the pushback from leftist factions, Breitbart highlighted the grim reality of violence in Chicago, reporting that at least 53 individuals were shot, with five fatalities, over the Labor Day weekend.

In a social media post, President Trump underscored the severity of the situation, stating, "At least 54 people were shot in Chicago over the weekend, 8 people were killed. The last two weekends were similar. Chicago is the worst and most dangerous city in the World, by far. Pritzker needs help badly, he just doesnt know it yet. I will solve the crime problem fast, just like I did in DC. Chicago will be safe again, and soon. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" He further emphasized his point by declaring, "CHICAGO IS THE MURDER CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!"

As the debate over federal intervention in Chicago continues, the city's struggle with crime remains a pressing concern, with the President asserting his commitment to restoring safety and order.
