In a candid TikTok video, O'Donnell admitted to her oversight, stating, "I did not do my due diligence before I made that emotional statement, and I said things about the shooter that were incorrect." She further explained her assumptions, revealing her preconceived notions about the shooter's profile, which she believed aligned with "NRA loving kind of gun people."
O'Donnell's apology was direct: "Anyway, the truth is, I messed up, and when you mess up, you fess up. Im sorry, this is my apology video, and I hope its enough."
According to Breitbart, O'Donnell, who relocated to Ireland following President Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 election, had previously described the shooter as a "white guy, Republican, MAGA person." Her comments extended to a broader critique of American gun culture, asserting, "The NRA is a terrorist organization. And they have been for many years."
She expressed frustration with the current state of affairs, questioning, "When is enough enough America? Havent you have enough of Donald Trump? The Heritage Foundation? All their bullshit? Hes their puppet. but guess what? Its coming to an end," while also suggesting that President Trump was not faring well.
The tragic event, which unfolded in Minneapolis, saw the shooter open fire through church windows during a Mass attended by students from Annunciation Catholic School. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian OHara confirmed the details of the attack, which resulted in the deaths of an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old, along with numerous injuries.
