In a recent social media video, Fox News anchor Bret Baier was seen being pulled over and ticketed by an officer from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
The incident, which occurred while Baier was driving his wife's vehicle in Georgetown, has garnered significant attention online.
As reported by the Daily Caller, President Donald Trump initiated a federal intervention in Washington, D.C.'s MPD on August 11, aiming to address the escalating crime rates in the nation's capital. Baier recounted the incident on X, stating, "I picked up my ringing phone as I drove past an officer while driving my wifes car in Georgetown. He pointed to have me pull over- I did. He was very professional. I had to dig for the registration card. Got a ticket and left. I didnt know there was paparazzi."
The video, which features the instrumental track "Jump Around" by House of Pain, captures the moment Baier was issued the citation.
This federal intervention follows a violent incident involving Edward Coristine, a Department of Government Efficiency staffer, who was injured while thwarting a carjacking attempt. Known by the nickname "Big Balls," Coristine's actions have highlighted the urgent need for effective crime control measures in the city.
Since President Trump's directive, the MPD has made at least 212 arrests, with a significant portion occurring in Wards 8 and 9. These areas are reportedly responsible for nearly 60% of the homicides in Washington, D.C. Baier, who previously gained attention for his on-stage performance of "Rappers Delight" by Sugarhill Gang at a Rascal Flatts concert, now finds himself in the spotlight once again, albeit under different circumstances.
