During a recent appearance on MSNBC's "The Weeknight," Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) delivered a scathing critique of President Donald Trump's conduct at the Anchorage, Alaska summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Swalwell characterized Trump as a "Kremlin kiss ass," accusing him of failing to seize the opportunity to challenge a "ruthless dictator" responsible for heinous acts, including the killing and kidnapping of innocent children.
As reported by Breitbart, Swalwell expressed his dismay at the summit, stating, "If youre a Republican in Congress, you just saw a Kremlin kiss ass in the president of the United States. Somebody who squandered an opportunity to confront a ruthless dictator who is killing innocent children and kidnapping innocent children every single day."
He further criticized the meeting, suggesting it served no purpose other than diverting attention from other pressing issues such as the Epstein files and inflation. Swalwell described the event as "embarrassing to watch" and likened it unfavorably to the Helsinki conference, where Trump was perceived as overly deferential to Putin.
Swalwell's remarks extended to questioning Trump's allegiance, saying, "I dont know if Donald Trump is or is not a Russian asset. I do know that at press conferences like this and like at Helsinki, he certainly acts like one."
Such behavior, he argued, offers little reassurance to Americans, particularly those in the military, who expect their commander in chief to stand firm against adversaries like Putin. The congressman's comments reflect ongoing concerns about Trump's foreign policy approach and its implications for U.S. national security.
