Pam Bondi Plans To Defund California If Newsom Continues Sanctuary Policies!

In a decisive move, Attorney General Pam Bondi has declared her intention to withdraw federal funding from California should Governor Gavin Newsom persist in upholding the state's sanctuary policies for illegal immigrants.

This announcement was made public on Thursday, as Bondi shared a letter addressed to Newsom, underscoring the gravity of the situation.

"Dear Governor Newsom, The United States has a long history of cooperation with state and local law enforcement agencies, including for immigration enforcement," Bondi articulated in her correspondence. "Such cooperation is vital to enforce federal law and protect national security," she continued.

According to the Western Journal, Bondi emphasized that Congress has established a legal framework obliging states and local governments to collaborate with federal immigration enforcement initiatives.

Bondi's letter further criticized sanctuary policies, stating they have "undermined this necessary cooperation and obstructed federal immigration enforcement." She argued that these policies provide "aliens cover to perpetrate crimes in our communities and evade the immigration consequences that federal law requires."

Under the leadership of President Donald Trump, Bondi asserted that ensuring full cooperation from state and local governments in immigration enforcement is of paramount importance.

The Attorney General revealed that President Trump has tasked her, alongside Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, with identifying sanctuary jurisdictions and informing them of their violations of federal law. Additionally, the President has instructed agencies to examine their authority to impose immigration-related conditions on grants and contracts as a strategy to counter sanctuary policies.

"As contemplated by the Executive Order, designation as a sanctuary jurisdiction may result in additional consequences and further agency actions as permitted by law," Bondi wrote.

Earlier this year, Bondi took action by halting federal funds for so-called "sanctuary cities," as reported by Fox News. She also directed the Justice Department to investigate jurisdictions that hinder law enforcement and to pursue prosecution when necessary.

This firm stance reflects a broader commitment to uphold federal immigration laws and ensure national security, aligning with conservative principles of law and order.
