In a shocking revelation on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle," a woman identified as Holly, who was brutally assaulted during a street brawl in Cincinnati, claimed that the police officers who arrived at the scene failed to take her statement or even record her name.
Holly was left unconscious in the middle of the street following the violent altercation, which was captured on video and went viral on July 27.
According to the Daily Caller, the disturbing footage shows Holly trying to intervene in the fight at Elm and Fourth streets, only to be knocked unconscious. Laura Ingraham, the show's host, noted that Holly regained consciousness and left the scene not in an ambulance, but in an Uber.
Holly recounted her experience, stating, "And my face was still completely bloodied. All of our faces, the victims, when we were talking to the two police officers that did finally show up, they did not call for backup. They did not call for [an] ambulance. I just remember, 'Finally my Uber, after all of this, my Uber had finally showed up.'"
Holly further alleged that the police officers displayed a nonchalant attitude towards the victims, failing to take the situation seriously.
She said, "I just remember the police officers were being very nonchalant, and they were kind of blowing us off, kind of like, 'OK, you were in a fight, cool.' There were still a hundred people on the streets, like there were still people gathered everywhere. Then seeing us bloody and some of their shirts were torn, they didnt even get a statement from me. Actually, they didnt even take down my name, come to think of it.
The video footage reveals that the brawl began with four men, one of whom was repeatedly stomped on. As the video progresses, Holly is seen being punched by a man, resulting in her lying unconscious in the street. Ingraham, visibly shocked by Holly's allegations, asked if the officers took her statement or recorded her name and address.
Holly responded, "They didnt even ask my name, no. Thats in one of the victims, it took him three times of kind of being very persistent, like aggressive, being like, 'My name is, write this down.'"
Holly's disillusionment with the police response was evident as she stated, "Thats when I got in the Uber, I said, 'Police dont care. I wasnt even going to file a police report because I was like, whats the point? Theyre not going to look into this. They dont care. They didnt even want to take down my name.'"
She further claimed that the Cincinnati police did not interview anyone from the crowd that night, and she observed officers allegedly "leaning up against their police car" with their "arms crossed." Holly expressed her disappointment, saying, "They were like, you know, I dont remember the words they were saying, but just by their demeanor and their attitude, it was a disgrace, absolute disgrace."
Following the incident, Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge held a press conference announcing that five people were charged in connection with the street fight, with more charges expected.
However, Theetge faced criticism for her statements, as she claimed that the videos of the brawl did not depict the entire incident. The Cincinnati Police Department has yet to respond to these allegations.
