In a significant development, three high-ranking FBI officials are reportedly facing termination, as indicated by various sources.
Among those set to be dismissed is Brian Driscoll, who briefly held the position of acting director at the onset of President Donald Trump's second term. Walter Giardina, involved in investigations concerning President Trump and his advisor Peter Navarro, is also on the list, as reported by the New York Times.
Additionally, CNN has revealed that Steve Jensen, the acting director of the Washington Field Office, is likewise facing dismissal.
According to the Daily Caller, the FBI has refrained from commenting on the matter. The New York Times further reported that Emil Bove, while serving as Acting Deputy Attorney General in February, accused Driscoll of "insubordination" for resisting efforts to disclose information about FBI agents involved in the January 6 investigations.
Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley has called upon FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi to provide records concerning Giardina, citing allegations of misconduct. Whistleblower disclosures have accused Giardina of falsely asserting the Steele Dossier's veracity, erasing a laptop assigned to him during his tenure with special counsel Robert Mueller, and expressing "openly his animosity toward President Trump," as outlined in Grassley's letter.
