Dean Cain, renowned for his role in "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," has announced his enlistment with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The actor, who has a background in law enforcement, shared his decision through a social media video, emphasizing his commitment to national security. "For those who dont know, I am a sworn law enforcement officer, as well as being a filmmaker, and I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it. So, I joined up," Cain stated.
As reported by One America News, Cain's announcement aligns with the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) recent recruitment initiatives, which include enticing benefits such as a $50,000 signing bonus and student loan repayment.
These measures aim to attract 10,000 new officers to ICE. Cain highlighted the agency's achievements under President Trump's administration, noting, "Since President Trump took office ICE has arrested hundreds of thousands of criminals, including terrorists, rapists, murderers, pedophiles, MS-13 gang members, drug traffickers, you name it."
The DHS has also made a significant policy change by removing the previous age limit of 40 for new recruits, allowing individuals like Cain, who is 59, to join the force. Cain encouraged others to consider joining ICE, echoing the DHS's call to action: "If you want to help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst and removing them from Americas streets."
