In a recent interview with Fox News host Trey Gowdy on "Sunday Night in America," CIA Director John Ratcliffe delivered a scathing critique of the "Durham Annex," particularly highlighting the role of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the alleged attempt to falsely link President Trump to Russia.
Ratcliffe referred to this as "the greatest scandal of a lifetime."
The conversation revolved around the notorious annex, a declassified report that outlines an alleged plan by the Clinton campaign to falsely associate Trump with Russia. Ratcliffe and Gowdy also discussed potential future developments in the investigation into the alleged hoax.
Ratcliffe disclosed that he and FBI Director Kash Patel are set to declassify additional documents that, according to him, reveal the FBI's sinister role in validating Hillary Clinton's Steele dossier as credible, thus incorporating it into the intelligence community assessment. "There will be more to come," Ratcliffe promised, adding that the public should anticipate further transparency and truth from the Trump administration.
Ratcliffe didn't mince words when he declared, "There is no question: This was the greatest political scandal of our lifetime." He described it as a "stain on our country that should never happen again."
Gowdy echoed Ratcliffe's sentiments, suggesting that the impact of the scandal was even more profound than one might think. He referred to it as "generational damage" due to the erosion of trust Americans place in their elected officials.
According to RedState, Ratcliffe agreed with Gowdy, pointing out that the FBI "buried" intelligence from foreign intelligence services. This intelligence suggested that a U.S. presidential candidate was attempting to falsely accuse another candidate of treason, alleging that he was an agent of a foreign power, Russia. This information was concealed from congressional investigators and, by extension, the American public.
Upon the release of the "smoking gun evidence" found in the Durham annex, Patel stated that it demonstrated "the Clinton campaign plotted to frame President Trump and fabricate the Russia collusion hoax." He described the Russia hoax as a disgrace that President Trump and the country should never have had to endure, and he hoped it would be a step toward justice.
Last month, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released further evidence allegedly showing the Obama administration's direct involvement in the post-2016 presidential election Russia hoax. Gabbard characterized the plot as the "most egregious weaponization and politicization of intelligence in American history."
President Trump has been unequivocal in his condemnation of Obama's alleged role in the Russia hoax, labeling it as "treason." He told reporters, "Look, he's guilty. It's not a question. I like to say, let's give it time, but it's there; he's guilty. They ... this was treason, this was every word you can think of."
Ratcliffe also emphasized Clinton's significant role in the scandal. As he pointed out, she was the beneficiary of media reports generated from the false information that repeatedly depicted Trump as a puppet installed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. "They just spent the next few years really amplifying the lie of Hillary Clintons Steele Dossier and burying the truth of her plan to frame Donald Trump," he said. "It is the greatest political scandal that will hopefully be the last that well see in our lifetime.
While the scandal has been exposed, the question remains: will there be charges and accountability commensurate with what has been dubbed "the greatest political scandal?" Only time will tell.
