Renowned actor and filmmaker Mel Gibson has once again voiced his criticism of California's leadership, specifically targeting Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

This marks the second occasion in recent weeks that Gibson has publicly expressed his discontent with the state's administration.

During a gathering of Californians, many of whom are believed to have been affected by recent wildfires, Gibson accused Governor Newsom of attempting to implement what he termed the "Maui plan."

This comment alludes to the controversial government land acquisitions in Maui following the devastating Lahaina fire. Gibson's remarks, as reported by Gateway Pundit, underscore his call for a change in leadership within California and his demand for federal oversight concerning any government funds allocated to the state.

In a partial transcript shared by Wall Street Apes on Twitter/X, Gibson stated, "Newsom wants to do the Maui plan There arent any more locals living there anymore. They all had to leave town." He further questioned, "Do you think the people of the Palisades or Altadena are going to be consulted about how their areas are reimagined by Newsom and Bass?"

Gibson also expressed skepticism about Newsom's request for $40 billion in federal aid, asking, "Why would we trust him with that kind of funding? See, along with that federal money should come a federal investigation."

Gibson emphasized the need for transparency and accountability, asserting, "We need to see whats happening with our money, with our federal dollars. California deserves leadership that does more than acknowledge a problem. It deserves leaders who take real, meaningful steps towards addressing these threats to our community. You deserve better."

He concluded with a call for decisive leadership, stating, "Its time for accountability. Its time for leadership that doesnt wait until its too late. And most of all, its time for the government that stands with its people."

The slow pace of recovery efforts following the fires has sparked frustration among residents, leading to increased public outcry. As the rebuilding process drags on, voices like Gibson's are likely to become more prominent, reflecting a growing demand for effective governance and responsible use of federal resources.
