Watch: Alyssa Farah Griffin Clashes With Whoopi Goldberg Over Trump's $5K Baby Bonus On 'The View'!

During a recent episode of The View, Alyssa Farah Griffin took issue with Whoopi Goldberg's response to a proposal from President Donald Trump.

Griffin accused Goldberg of displaying hypocrisy, suggesting that her reaction would differ if the same policy were put forth by President Joe Biden.

As reported by The Decider, Goldberg expressed her discontent with President Trump's initiative to offer new mothers $5,000 to encourage higher birth rates in the United States. She remarked, "I am incredibly insulted by this because clearly they dont know how womens bodies work and they dont know what it costs to raise a child or just have a child. I dont know what $5,000 is supposed to do."

In contrast, Griffin voiced her support for the policy, highlighting its potential benefits for covering "out-of-pocket" hospital expenses and even contributing to a child's savings account. She further advocated for extending similar assistance to gay couples and adoptive parents. Griffin posed the question, Isnt something better than nothing? Goldberg, however, disagreed, responding, No! Not in this case.

Griffin then suggested that her Democratic colleagues might have praised the proposal as "groundbreaking" had it originated from Biden. Goldberg, maintaining her stance, countered, I dont like the idea that somebody is saying, Im gonna pay you to have more kids. I know were not allowed to bring up the other times people suggested that but I will tell you this is not the first time in the country.

Sunny Hostin chimed in, likening the proposal to themes from "The Handmaids Tale." Goldberg proceeded to criticize the Trump administration for cutting various programs since taking office, including "slashing $1 billion in funding for schools and food banks" and dismissing staff involved in aiding low-income households with heating and cooling expenses.

She argued, It seems to be that everything this administration seems to be doing is telling people not to have children. Why not make sure that kids we already have have a shot at good schooling? If you want people to have children, you have to not scare them by cutting all these programs that they may need.
