During a conversation with reporters aboard Air Force One, President Donald Trump disclosed that he severed ties with the notorious financier Jeffrey Epstein after Epstein allegedly poached female employees from the spa at Mar-a-Lago.
Trump recounted that despite his explicit instructions to Epstein to refrain from hiring his staff, the financier persisted, employing several young women, including Virginia Giuffre, who was 17 at the time.
"Everyone knows the people that were taken and it was the concept of taking people that work for me is bad," Trump remarked. "But that story has been pretty well out there, and yes, they were [young women] People were taken out of the spa, hired by [Epstein]. In other words, gone. And other people would come and complain this guy is taking people from the spa, I didnt know that. And when I heard about it, I told him, listen, we dont want you taking our people, whether it was spa or not [the] spa. I dont want him taking people, and he was fine. Then not too long after that, he did it again and I said, [youre] out of here.
As reported by Conservative Daily News, Trump emphasized that Epstein's actions marked the end of his presence at Mar-a-Lago.
When questioned about Giuffre's involvement, Trump responded, "I dont know. I think she worked at the spa. I think so, I think that was one of the people, yeah. He stole her. And by the way, she had no complaints about us, as you know. None whatsoever." This incident, according to Trump, was the final straw that led to Epstein's expulsion from the exclusive club.
Giuffre, who became a prominent figure in the fight against Epstein, accused his associate Ghislaine Maxwell of recruiting her for sexual activities. In a 2019 BBC interview, she alleged that Prince Andrew sexually abused her on three occasions at Epstein and Maxwells residences, claims which the prince has denied. Tragically, Giuffre passed away in April at the age of 41.
The President had previously mentioned that his friendship with Epstein ended following a dispute in 2004 over a Palm Beach property purchase, as noted by The New York Times.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt informed the publication that Trump had barred Epstein from Mar-a-Lago for "being a creep." Additional reports have suggested that Epstein was banned for making inappropriate advances toward another member's teenage daughter.
In a joint press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump addressed the potential release of incriminating evidence from the Epstein files. He asserted that if such evidence existed, it would have been disclosed by President Joe Biden's administration to bolster Democratic prospects in the 2024 election.
This statement underscores Trump's belief in the political motivations behind the handling of the Epstein case, reflecting his ongoing skepticism of the current administration's intentions.
