President Trump's handling of the Epstein files, which has faced criticism, might see a shift following Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche's extensive interviews with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's convicted associate.
The discussions have sparked renewed interest in the case, particularly after Trump was questioned about the possibility of pardoning Maxwell. His response, however, has stirred controversy among skeptics nationwide.
When asked about a potential pardon for Maxwell, Trump replied, "I dont want to talk about that." Pressed further, he added, "Its something I havent thought about," and concluded with, "Im allowed to do it." These remarks have drawn attention, yet some, like BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales, remain unfazed.
According to The Blaze, Gonzales commented on Trump's tendency to provide noncommittal answers, recalling a similar experience when she inquired about pardoning January 6 protesters. "Hes just a talker. He just talks," she remarked, emphasizing that Trump's style often involves avoiding direct answers.
The White House, meanwhile, has made its stance clear, stating to the Daily Mail that "there have been no discussions or consideration of a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, and there never will be." This declaration, however, contrasts with the ongoing interactions between the Department of Justice and Maxwell.
Gonzales expressed skepticism, noting, "They said there will never be a pardon for her, but they are meeting with her. The DOJ has met with her. Who knows whats going to come out of that."
Gonzales further highlighted the discomfort in relying on Maxwell's testimony, given her conviction. "So now we are left with just taking a convicted child sex trafficker at her word," she stated, adding, "For lack of a better term, that feels icky. So its just not a good situation."
Her remarks underscore the complexities and uncertainties surrounding the case, as the public grapples with the implications of Maxwell's potential revelations.
