In a recent development, Ron Klain, the White House Chief of Staff under President Joe Biden, appeared before the House Oversight Committee to discuss concerns regarding Biden's health.
Unlike other officials from the Biden administration, Klain chose to fully cooperate with the Congressional investigators, opting not to exercise his Fifth Amendment rights. His willingness to engage with the committee was noted by GOP Representative Andy Biggs, who remarked, In my opinion, hes not trying to avoid answering the questions.
According to Gateway Pundit, Klain's testimony revealed significant insights into the internal discussions within the Democratic Party. Fox News reported that Klain disclosed how Hillary Clinton and Jake Sullivan, Bidens National Security Advisor, had approached him with concerns about Biden's political viability. This conversation reportedly took place months before Biden decided to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.
Despite defending Biden's mental acuity, Klain acknowledged that Clinton and Sullivan had expressed doubts, stating that Biden was not politically viable.
Fox News further detailed that Klain spent over five hours in discussion with the House Oversight Committee, led by Chairman James Comer, R-Ky. The committee is investigating whether Biden's aides concealed any signs of mental decline. A source familiar with the interview indicated that Klain maintained his belief in Biden's mental sharpness and capability to serve as President.
However, the source also confirmed that both Clinton and Sullivan had approached Klain, expressing their belief that Biden was not politically viable, a sentiment that was echoed months before Biden's decision to step down from the 2024 race. Sullivan reportedly noted that Biden was less effective in 2024 compared to 2022.
