In a recent post on Truth Social, President Donald Trump lambasted his erstwhile supporters who have, in his words, "bought into this 'bullsh*t'" concerning the Jeffrey Epstein case.
He accused them of falling prey to the "Lunatic Left" for nearly a decade, and reiterated his stance that the Epstein files and client list are nothing more than a "hoax."
According to The Post Millennial, Trump's fiery rhetoric was aimed at the "Radical Left Democrats," whom he accused of striking gold once again with their deceptive tactics. "Just like with the FAKE and fully discredited Steele Dossier, the lying 51 'Intelligence' Agents, the Laptop from Hell, which the Dems swore had come from Russia (No, it came from Hunter Bidens bathroom!), and even the Russia, Russia, Russia Scam itself, a totally fake and made up story used in order to hide Crooked Hillary Clintons big loss in the 2016 Presidential Election, these Scams and Hoaxes are all the Democrats are good at - Its all they have - They are no good at governing, no good at policy, and no good at picking winning candidates," Trump asserted.
He further criticized the Democrats for their unity, stating that unlike Republicans, they "stick together like glue." He dubbed the Epstein case as their latest "SCAM," expressing disappointment that his "PAST supporters have bought into this 'bullshit,' hook, line, and sinker." He lamented that these supporters have yet to learn their lesson, even after being "conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years."
Trump's tirade comes in the wake of an attempt by California Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna to compel House Republicans to vote for or against the release of the alleged Epstein files. Khanna proposed an amendment to a bill in the Rules committee that would have mandated the Department of Justice (DOJ) to disclose all video and files related to the Epstein case.
However, his amendment lacked provisions to protect victims from harm or prevent the DOJ from publishing explicit content found among Epstein's possessions. The proposal was ultimately rejected by the GOP in the House Rules.
The Trump administration has faced criticism from its MAGA base over perceived opacity regarding the Epstein files. During his 2024 campaign trail, Trump promised to release them, a pledge echoed by then-attorney general Pam Bondi, and FBI officials Kash Patel and Dan Bongino. However, when all these parties later claimed that there was no Epstein client list and that Epstein had indeed committed suicide in a New York City prison in 2019, their assertions were met with disbelief.
In response to the ongoing controversy, Trump has maintained that the Epstein files are a "hoax," and has chastised those within his base who continue to demand answers. He suggested that Bondi "should" release all "credible" information on Epstein, while simultaneously claiming that the files were a hoax orchestrated by Joe Biden and Barack Obama.
As the debate rages on, it remains to be seen how this saga will unfold, and what impact it may have on the political landscape.
