In a recent episode of his podcast, NewsNation host Chris Cuomo fervently responded to a series of viewers who criticized President Donald Trump on a YouTube video of one of his previous episodes.
The episode in question, titled "The Two Iran Questions That Will DEFINE Trumps Presidency," aired on June 19 as part of the "Chris Cuomo Project." It attracted a slew of comments from viewers who disagreed with Cuomo's commentary, arguing that President Trump lacks the ability to make effective deals.
According to the Daily Caller, Cuomo expressed his exasperation with the relentless criticism of Trump by Democrats during his Tuesday episode. He defended the President's approach to deal-making, stating, I said he sees himself as a dealmaker. He wants to make deals. Thats where his head is. Thats where he sees success. He is not a hawk in the traditional sense. He does not believe in might makes right through military as we have seen in the past."
Cuomo further elaborated on his point, acknowledging Trump's unique business acumen, "Is he successful in business? Hell no. Except in selling his name as a marketing guy, which he has a very specific kind of genius with. You got to give it to him. That guy is President of the United States 2X, okay? And should have never happened.
The NewsNation host went on to explain how Trump managed to resonate with a demographic that he ostensibly has little in common with, "So what did he do? He attached and became an affinity play for people he has nothing in common with. He adopted their outrage and sold it back to them. And now you can say he doesnt know how to make a deal, but thats a deal right there.
Cuomo also touched on Trump's role in international diplomacy, specifically his involvement in brokering a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, which he described as "a win." He expressed his frustration with the constant criticism of Trump, arguing that it does not contribute to a winning strategy, You get 42, 44%. Thats what just happened. Trump sucks doesnt win the race. My frustration is with you thinking you keep doing the same thing which is just pound on this fucking guy, which is easy enough to do, but you dont win the race.
Cuomo warned Democrats against adopting a strategy solely based on criticizing Trump, I think youre making a mistake paying attention to [Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] AOC and this new deference to radical left and radical fundamentalist and radical Islamist sympathies. I think its a huge fucking mistake. You are once again valuing the few over the many. And if you think trans sports got you in a pickle, youre about to be in a whole bucket of brine.
Echoing Cuomo's sentiments, businessman and television personality Mark Cuban also criticized Democrats on Pod Save America Sunday for their constant attacks on Trump rather than offering solutions to improve Americans lives. Cuban argued, Thats not the way to win! Its just not! Because its not about Trump its about the people of the United States of America and whats good for them!
Cuomo's and Cuban's comments highlight the need for a shift in strategy for Democrats. Rather than focusing solely on criticizing Trump, they should concentrate on offering solutions that will improve the lives of Americans. This approach may resonate more with the electorate and lead to a more successful campaign strategy.
