Gavin Newsom appears to be positioning himself for a presidential bid in 2028, as his frequent media appearances suggest.

Despite California grappling with the aftermath of devastating wildfires, the governor found time to participate in the Shawn Ryan podcast this week. His penchant for self-promotion seems unyielding, even amidst pressing state issues.

According to Gateway Pundit, Newsom dedicated over four hours to the Shawn Ryan Show, released on Monday, while California continues to face challenges such as wildfires, homelessness, illegal immigration, and other critical concerns. This interview marks Newsom's latest venture into alternative media, fueling speculation about his presidential ambitions, although he denies such intentions. Notably, he has also engaged conservatives on his own podcast.

The Nashville interview spanned a wide array of subjects, including Coronavirus mandates, the Jeffrey Epstein case, Middle Eastern affairs, Newsom's upbringing, immigration and border enforcement, relations with China, homelessness, presidential politics, housing, his career, pornography, tariffs, and renewable energy.

However, Newsom scarcely addressed the California wildfires, choosing instead to commend the debris removal effortsa collaboration between federal and private entitiesand to attribute the fires on federal land to President Donald Trump.

During the discussion, Newsom defended California's reliance on illegal immigrants for labor, asserting that a significant portion of agricultural and construction workers are illegal. When questioned about whether these individuals are displacing American workers, he remarked, "I dont see Americans jumping at those jobs."
