In a bold move to attract New Yorkers to the Buckeye State, Vivek Ramaswamy's Super PAC is set to unveil a provocative advertisement in Times Square.
The ad aims to entice residents of New York to consider relocating to Ohio. This initiative is part of Ramaswamy's campaign for the governorship of Ohio as a Republican candidate.
According to the Daily Caller, the advertisement is funded by the "Vivek Super PAC Victors, not Victims" (VPAC). It seeks to contrast the political ideologies of Zohran Mamdani, who recently secured the Democratic nomination for New York City mayor, with those of Ramaswamy.
The ad labels Mamdani as a "radical socialist" and encourages viewers to "Move To Ohio," portraying Ramaswamy as a defender of freedom. It further reads, "Worried About Zohran? Ohio Is Waiting For You."
The strategic placement of this ad comes in the wake of a 2022 United States Census Bureau report, which revealed that Ohio ranks as the 20th most popular destination for New Yorkers seeking to relocate, with 8,431 individuals making the move.
Andy Surabian, VPAC's chief strategist, emphasized the contrast between the two political figures, stating, "While Mamdani will further crush New York City with his job-killing socialist tyranny, Vivek is ready to unleash freedom, supercharge the American dream and make Ohio a state of excellence."
Surabian further elaborated on the rationale behind the advertisement, noting, "We put this billboard up because we couldnt think of two politicians in the country that represent such wildly different paths for the future of our nation. The Mamdani path of socialist totalitarianism versus the Vivek path of American freedom." The advertisement, which reportedly costs around $50,000, will remain in place for an entire week.
As the political landscape in New York City evolves, Mamdani's favorability rating stands at approximately 35%, as per a July 9 poll conducted by Politico. In comparison, Andrew Cuomo holds a 25% favorability rating.
Surabian concluded with a message to disenchanted New Yorkers: "For those New Yorkers who have had enough, freedom and prosperity are waiting for you in Ohio." This campaign underscores the stark ideological divide between the two regions and highlights the ongoing debate over the future direction of American governance.
