Sen. Padilla Claims Migrants Too Afraid To Pick ProduceX Users Fire Back With Reality Checks

The Democratic Party appears to be missing the mark when it comes to comprehending the severity of the border crisis and the issue of illegal immigration in the United States.

California Senator Alex "Jose" Padilla continues to employ scare tactics that have previously proven effective in swaying the stance of even some established Republican lawmakers on illegal immigration. As reported by RedState, Padilla's recent comments were in response to a news story from Oregon about seasonal fruit pickers who are "afraid to go to work". He stated, "He promised to go after criminals. Instead, hes targeting the essential workers who put food on our tablesand crippling the agricultural industry in the process."

The story Padilla was referring to involved Ian Chandler of CE Farm Management, who admitted to KPTV that he knowingly employs illegal immigrants. Chandler stated, Our harvest workforce is primarily immigrants, the majority are from Mexico originally and they are skilled workers who come up every single year. A lot of people feel scared because of their ethnicity, which is an unfortunate thing. He further explained that the fear of ICE raids has led to a decrease in labor, resulting in an inability to harvest all the cherries before they become overly ripe or shrivel up.

Chandler also revealed that his farm will have to tighten its belt "over the next year," and that he and his wife are even considering second jobs to compensate for the loss. However, one might question what Chandler expected when he decided to violate federal law by relying on illegal immigrants to sustain his family business. Furthermore, it is important to note that people are not "scared because of their ethnicity" -- any fear that exists has been instigated by liberals like Sen. Padilla.

The public responded to Senator Padilla's comments by sharing the story and expressing their thoughts. One individual even took the initiative to alert the DHS to the farmer's predicament. Another suggested a novel approach to ensuring farm workers show up, while a third asked the senator to clarify his stance on the exploitation of desperate people by large agricultural conglomerates.

The Democratic lawmaker also seems to overlook the fact that during the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump promised a massive repatriation effort. As one commenter, Truth Ninja316, pointed out, this is what the public voted for -- President Trump cleaning up the mess left by Biden and the Democrats.

Harmeet Dhillon, Assistant U.S. Attorney General in the DOJ's Civil Rights division, rightfully criticized Padilla and the Democrats for repeatedly pushing these "manipulations" on the American people. This, coupled with the left's habit of labeling a presidential candidate a Hitler wannabe and nearly half of American voters as authoritarians and racists, could potentially backfire on them. The 2026 midterms are fast approaching, and the Democrats may soon reap what they have sown.

The Democratic Party's stance on protecting individuals exploited for illegal labor is clear, regardless of the type of produce a farm grows. It is crucial not to let them convince you otherwise.
