President Donald Trump recently shared insights into his ongoing recovery from an assassination attempt, revealing persistent ear pain and expressing gratitude to God for his survival.

As the one-year mark of the harrowing event approaches, Trump reflected on the incident during an interview with Fox News host Will Cain.

The conversation took place amid Trump's visit to Texas, where he surveyed the aftermath of devastating floods. Cain initiated the dialogue by highlighting the personal impact of the near-fatal incident on Trump, asking, Mr. President, you have children, you have a daughter, you have grandchildren. Were approaching one year from you having a very narrow escape from death. Do you think all of this in any way gives you a unique perspective on whats happening here and what people are experiencing here in Texas?

According to Gateway Pundit, Trump recounted the surreal experience of the shooting on July 13, 2024, stating, Well, I went through a lot. It was a crazy time, very surreal, actually, if you want to know the truth. He described the chaotic scene, noting, Its I have got this massive crowd of people, and all of a sudden you hear and you feel something thats very unusual. And I got down quickly. And I was people were screaming, get down, get down. It was a whole the whole thing was just crazy. And its hard to believe a year is up.

Reflecting on the past year, Trump acknowledged the significant changes that have occurred, including his presidency. He emphasized his sense of duty, remarking, And here we are. A lot of things have happened since then, including the presidency. So I have an obligation to do a good job, I feel, because I was really saved, I was really saved by somebody very special.

Trump further elaborated on the improbability of the incident, noting, People that are shooters Im not so much of a shooter, but people that were shooters say its almost impossible that that was a miss. I mean, it was a hit, but it was a miss. Well, I do get that throbbing feeling every once in a while, you understand. When Cain inquired about the ear pain, Trump confirmed, Yes, a little bit.

Expressing his gratitude, Trump stated, But, no, I owe a lot. And I think I hope the reason I was saved was to save our country. We had a country that was, I dont say dead because its too strong, but we had a country that was really very close to being finished, in my opinion. And now we have the hottest country in the world. Thats why Im so saddened by this.

Trump lamented the tragic nature of the event, observing, But its one of those things, those tragic things that happened. But we had a country that was dead. It was dead. It was really in deep trouble.

His remarks resonate with a significant portion of his supporters, as a Fox News poll conducted in April revealed that 70 percent of them believe divine intervention played a role in his return to the White House.
