There's An Unexpected Twist In The Musk-Bannon Feud

The ongoing public spat between Elon Musk and Steve Bannon continues to escalate, with Musk once more advocating for Bannon's incarceration.

In a fiery post on July 4, Musk declared, "The fat, drunken slob called Bannon will go back to prison and this time for a long time.

He has a lifetime of crime to pay for." This statement came as a retort to Bannon's criticism of Musk's proposal for a new political party.

Bannon, not one to hold back, responded with his own sharp words. "The foul, the buffoon. Elmo the Mook, formerly known as Elon Musk, Elmo the Mook. Hes today, in another smear, and this only a foreigner could do this think about it, hes got up on, hes got up on Twitter right now, a poll about starting an America Party, a non-American starting an America Party," Bannon remarked, taking aim at Musk's third-party initiative.

As reported by Mediaite, Musk has been hinting at the formation of a third political party, a move that comes amid a cooling relationship with President Donald Trump. Musk's tenure as a special government employee with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) concluded, leading to a verbal clash with Trump over the latter's "Big Beautiful Bill." Musk criticized the bill as an "abomination," arguing it would exacerbate the nation's debt crisis.

The poll Bannon referenced, which Musk posted on social media, garnered over 1.2 million votes, with approximately 65% of respondents supporting the idea of "the America Party." Musk elaborated on his strategy, suggesting, "One way to execute on this would be to laser-focus on just 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts. Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people."

In a subsequent post on July 5, Musk reiterated his call for Bannon's imprisonment, a sentiment he has expressed with increasing frequency. Bannon's legal troubles are not new; he previously served a four-month sentence for contempt of Congress after defying a subpoena from a congressional subcommittee investigating the events of January 6 at the Capitol.

With Musk's significant influence and Bannon's controversial past, this feud captures the attention of many, highlighting the complexities of modern political discourse.
