The House Oversight Committee has raised concerns over Anthony Bernal, Chief of Staff to Jill Biden, for allegedly evading his congressional testimony regarding President Joe Biden's cognitive health.
The committee has accused Bernal of obstructing their investigation into the President's mental acuity and the purported concealment of related issues.
According to Gateway Pundit, the committee stated, "Now that the White House has waived executive privilege, its abundantly clear that Anthony Bernal Jill Bidens so-called work husband never intended to be transparent about Joe Bidens cognitive decline and the ensuing cover-up. With no privilege left to hide behind, Mr. Bernal is now running scared, desperate to bury the truth. The American people deserve answers and accountability, and the Oversight Committee will not tolerate this obstruction. I will promptly issue a subpoena to compel Anthony Bernals testimony before the Committee."
This statement underscores the committee's determination to hold Bernal accountable and ensure transparency for the American public.
The committee's inquiry gained momentum following testimony from Neera Tanden, the former Staff Secretary, who revealed her limited interactions with President Biden despite her significant authority. Tanden's account highlighted the opaque decision-making process within the President's inner circle, raising questions about who truly wielded influence in the White House.
"Just yesterday, we heard from our first witness, Neera Tanden, the former Staff Secretary who controlled the Biden autopen. Ms. Tanden testified that she had minimal interaction with President Biden, despite wielding tremendous authority. She explained that to obtain approval for autopen signatures, she would send decision memos to members of the Presidents inner circle and had no visibility of what occurred between sending the memo and receiving it back with approval.
Her testimony raises serious questions about who was really calling the shots in the Biden White House amid the Presidents obvious decline. We will continue to pursue the truth for the American people," the committee asserted.
Further complicating matters, Project Veritas released an undercover video featuring DNC Vice Chair David Hogg, who suggested that Bernal held significant sway over the Biden administration. Hogg remarked, "The bigger issue was like the inner circle that was around Biden like Jill Bidens Chief of Staff [Anthony Bernal] had an enormous amount of power." This sentiment was echoed by Deterrian Jones, a former member of the White House Office of Digital Strategy, who described Bernal as a formidable figure within the administration.
As the investigation unfolds, the Oversight Committee remains steadfast in its pursuit of clarity and accountability, seeking to address the lingering questions surrounding the President's cognitive health and the dynamics within his administration.
