Mark Zuckerberg's recent remarks on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, coupled with his overtures to President Trump and the MAGA movement, have reportedly unsettled Meta employees.
According to the Financial Times, Zuckerberg's public statements have ignited a wave of discontent within the social media behemoth. His January 2025 appearance on the podcast, where he advocated for increased "masculine energy" in the workplace and alleged that the Biden administration directed Meta to "censor things that were true," left many staff members in a state of "horror" and "grieving."
As reported by Breitbart, Zuckerberg's podcast comments included a defense of male aggression as a potentially positive force and a critique of the corporate world's tendency to view intensity negatively. "You want to be able to channel that energy," he stated. His remarks, along with his commendation of President Trump and the easing of censorship on Meta's platforms, have raised alarms among left-leaning employees and executives who fear an alignment with conservative values.
In response to Zuckerberg's statements, a few executives voiced their objections during a leadership meeting at Meta's Menlo Park headquarters. However, the CEO reportedly dismissed their concerns, with one insider recounting, "He basically said: If you dont like it, tough shit."
While some interpret these actions as a pivot towards conservative principles, those familiar with Zuckerberg suggest he is merely revealing a side of himself that has long been evident in private.
Meta's chief technology officer, Andrew Bosworth, described the public's perception of the "authentic" Zuckerberg, advising dissatisfied employees to "consider working elsewhere."
