A former Coast Guard lieutenant, recognized for his sharpshooting prowess, has been apprehended on allegations of making violent threats against President Donald Trump.

Peter Stinson, hailing from Oakton, Virginia, served as a U.S. Coast Guard officer until 2021 and later as an instructor for FEMA's Incident Command Systems. His criminal complaint reveals a troubling pattern of behavior, as prosecutors assert that Stinson identified with the Antifa movement and utilized his X and Bluesky accounts to disseminate multiple threats aimed at President Trump from 2020 onward.

According to The Post Millennial, court documents highlight a particularly concerning exchange from April 2020. Stinson allegedly responded to a user on X, who suggested legal action against Trump, with a chilling reply: "somebody ought to do more than sue the orange mf's a**" and ominously added, "it involves a rifle and a scope, but I can't talk about it here."

In another instance, he purportedly proposed financial support for a contract, stating, "I'd be willing to pitch in $100 for a contract. Who wants to join me? We could solve the solvable part of this problem in a crack. Then, we can focus on the coronavirus itself."

Prosecutors emphasize that these were not isolated incidents. The complaint details additional messages where Stinson allegedly expressed a willingness to "pull the trigger" or offered to be the "driver" for an attack on President Trump.

These actions have led to Stinson's arrest, and he now faces federal charges for his alleged threats. The case underscores the ongoing challenges of addressing politically motivated threats and the importance of upholding the rule of law in safeguarding public figures.
